Well, Maemo 5 and the N900 allow SIP video calling, GoogleTalk with Video, and Skype Video over Wi-Fi and 3G. I have had several Google Talk with Video calls over Windmobile's 3G network. And, just for the record, Maemo had this feature before Apple, and without the silly limitation.
Advantage: Maemo.

Hi, To add to your point, the Facetime is available only between iPhone 4 to another iPhone 4.
Its a shame that the n900 doesn't support GSM video calling. It's actually pretty popular here (israel).
i havw used my N900 with skype and google talk to do video calling without wifi.
With a bit OC push, everything acts much more swiftly :) Be it a video chat or just a regular IM'ing.
